HOW IT WORKS

From recording to kit

  1. Start with the conversation

Upload the recording you want to work from. Listen for the argument, experience or explanation that deserves another audience.

  2. Confirm the source

Review the transcript and confirm who is speaking before generation. Supply names and product terms in your glossary, and correct the source where needed.

  3. Draft, edit and publish

Generate the output, review its wording against the conversation, and edit it in the app. Copy or export the finished draft for your publishing workflow; nothing publishes itself.

Upload MP3, WAV or M4A audio, or MP4 or MOV video. You can also import compatible podcast episodes from an RSS feed.

The per-file cap is 1 GB for audio and 10 GB for video. An upload must fit both the per-file cap and your remaining storage. Remaining storage is your plan’s quota minus stored media and space reserved for uploads or processing already in progress.

Extracted audio needs additional storage after a video is uploaded. An upload can fit initially but still exhaust storage during processing.

WHY CICADAS

Built around the weekly production job

Keep the speaker's meaning

A transcript gives you the surrounding argument as well as the memorable line. Check both before using a quote.

Keep your editorial direction

Save tone and writing preferences for later recordings. Keep the glossary alongside them so names and product language stay part of the workflow.

OUTPUT GUIDE

Build around the customer's story

Choose an angle that makes sense on its own, while keeping the conversation's context intact.

  1. The starting problem

Explain what the customer was trying to do and what got in the way. Keep the specific context that makes the story useful to a reader with a similar problem.

  2. The decision

Draw out how the customer evaluated a change. Separate their own explanation from your interpretation, especially when discussing alternatives.

  3. The outcome

Use only outcomes supported by the interview. Check any numbers with the customer and obtain approval for names, quotations and business details before publication.
