Cookie Policy
Last updated: 14 May 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how TJM TECH ("Cicadas", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on cicadas.fm and within the Cicadas application.
It complements our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website you visit. They allow the site to recognize your device, remember your preferences, and collect information about how you use the site. We also use similar technologies (local storage, session storage) which are covered by this Policy.
2. Why we use cookies
We use cookies to:
- Keep you signed in and remember your account preferences;
- Operate essential features (security, fraud prevention, rate limiting);
- Process payments securely.
We do not use cookies for advertising, third-party ad targeting, or cross-site tracking. We do not sell or share cookie data with advertisers.
3. Categories of cookies we use
3.1 Strictly necessary cookies
These are required for the Service to function. They cannot be disabled.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Session cookie | Maintains your authenticated session in the Cicadas application | Session |
| CSRF token | Cross-site request forgery protection | Session |
| Cookie consent | Stores your cookie preferences | 6 months |
| Customer support chat session | Maintains your chat conversation if you close and reopen the page during a support session | 6 months |
Legal basis: legitimate interest. These cookies fall under the CNIL exemption for cookies strictly necessary to provide the service requested by the user.
3.2 Payment processor cookies
When you reach the checkout flow, our payment processor sets cookies for fraud prevention and to manage your payment session. These are essential to processing payments.
3.3 In-product customer support chat
When you click to open our in-product chat widget, the chat tool loads and may set cookies to maintain your conversation session. The chat tool is loaded on demand — it does not run or set cookies until you open the chat.
4. Managing cookies in your browser
You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you delete existing cookies, block all cookies, or notify you when a cookie is set. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in.
