This Cookie Policy explains how TJM TECH ("Cicadas", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on cicadas.fm and within the Cicadas application.
It complements our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website you visit. They allow the site to recognize your device, remember your preferences, and collect information about how you use the site. We also use similar technologies (local storage, session storage) which are covered by this Policy.
2. Browser technologies we use
Cicadas does not use advertising cookies, third-party advertising trackers, or cross-site tracking. We do not sell or share cookie data with advertisers.
The application uses browser storage to keep authentication and product state on your device. When you open a payment provider's hosted pages, that provider may set its own cookies. Our first-party marketing analytics does not set or read an analytics cookie.
3. Categories of browser technology we use
3.1 Application authentication and local state
The Cicadas application uses Supabase Auth in the browser. When authentication is enabled, the Supabase client persists your authentication session in browser local storage and refreshes it as needed. The application sends the resulting access token to the Cicadas API as a bearer token in the Authorization header; Cicadas does not use a first-party HTTP session cookie for this authentication flow.
The application also uses local storage or session storage for limited product state, such as upload hand-off state, recent workspace navigation, and one-time sign-up or OAuth flow state. These entries remain until they expire, are replaced, you sign out, or you clear the site's browser data, depending on the feature.
Legal basis: performance of the Service you request and our legitimate interest in operating it securely and reliably.
3.2 Payment provider cookies
When you open hosted checkout or billing pages, our payment provider may set cookies and use device signals to manage the payment session, prevent fraud, and secure its services. Those technologies are controlled by the payment provider and are described in its own privacy and cookie notices.
3.3 Cookieless first-party analytics
When enabled, our first-party marketing analytics records limited page and interaction events without placing or reading an analytics cookie or persistent browser identifier. The server derives a pseudonymous visitor hash from request information and rotates that hash daily. See our Privacy Policy for the categories of data and legal bases involved.
4. Managing cookies and browser storage
You can manage or block cookies and clear local or session storage through your browser settings. Most browsers let you delete existing site data, block cookies, or notify you when a cookie is set. Clearing the Cicadas application's stored authentication data will sign you out, and clearing other stored state may reset preferences or interrupt an unfinished upload or sign-up flow.

We may update this Policy as our use of cookies and similar technologies evolves. If we introduce non-essential cookies or similar technologies that require consent, we will request that consent before using them. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision.
